| Delftware is a style of tin-glazed earthenware, most famously blue and white, that originated in the city of Delft, Netherlands, in the 17th century. Delftware is frequently used to describe any blue and white ceramic item. Authentic Delftware is hand painted by experienced artists, and glazed in a centuries old process. |
| Grade 2-3 students at Blue Church Art created their own beautiful Delftware vases, filled with tulips. The vases were drawn and decorated with colored pencil. Tulips were created with crayon, and colored in with markers. A "watercolor marker" technique was used for the background: one or two markers are used to loosely color the area, and water is applied to blend the colors. |
