Today is Groundhog day. I dug my little Punxsutawney Phil beanie baby out of the cupboard to celebrate. Madison, a 4th grader, did a great drawing of him!
The real Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow at sunrise this morning, which means we'll have six more weeks of winter. If the rest of the winter is as mild as it has been up until now, six more weeks of it is fine with me!
The talented kids in the Thursday evening class drew and painted these cute groundhogs who are climbing out of their burrows at sunrise. Most are seeing their shadows just like Punxsutawney Phil did. But Mackenzie's groundhog didn't see his shadow, and he predicts an early spring with lots of flowers!
